&lt;p&gt;We need to verify that &lt;em&gt;italics&lt;/em&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;bold text&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;del&gt;strikethrough text&lt;/del&gt;, and &lt;span class="underline"&gt;underlined text&lt;/span&gt; render cleanly. We also need to check distinct elements like &lt;code&gt;code (tilde)&lt;/code&gt; and &lt;code&gt;verbatim (equals)&lt;/code&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
